The Little biker Part 2

bike children Enfant pédales pedals bike

LEARNING TO START IN BIKE

A crucial step!

Starting in bike is a complicated exercise for a child. To start without losing your balance, your child must first learn to step on the pedals without looking. If one of his feet slips, he can easily find his pedals without looking for them.

For the bike start, teach your child to position the front foot above the level of the crank axle. In this way, he has more strength to perform his first pedal turn and gains enough speed to keep his balance. Do not forget helmet.

You can also offer him some start-up exercises: start it on a slight slope to facilitate learning. When mastering his first pedal laps, get him started on flat and then on a slight climb. His balance, technique and pedaling power are improved.

Test the game of "1 2 3 startup", it is formidable. The goal of the game : start alone. It is then a matter of proceeding by step:

- push with the feet (as on a balance bike) for 3 seconds,

- lift the feet to put them on the pedals,

- pedaling!

You can play by varying seconds tuned before lifting your feet: it will sometimes be 4 seconds, sometimes 6 ...

You can also remind him that he must always pedal and give him the rhythm: "you pedal, you pedal..."
