Kickbike story

Coming from Finland, this sport is practiced in the summer on a sports scooter, and in winter, thanks to a wide choice of snow scooters Esla and KICKSPARK.

The Kickbike® (trademark) was developed by Hannu Vierikko in the 90s. This young medical student, racing champion in snow scooters, has developed the world's fastest and most efficient adult scooter. With its front wheel the size of a bike, the bike is very stable and can move at a speed close to that of a conventional bike.

The practice of the Scooter is a physical exercise beneficial for the maintenance of your health. It allows you to maintain and improve your shape at any age. During a regular workout, the improvement of the cardiovascular capacities is remarkable. By performing a dynamic push with the knee well raised forward, the work of the lateral abdominals contribute to the strengthening of the back muscles, especially the lower lumbar muscles.

During the push, changing your foot every 3 to 10 kicks, the muscles of your two legs work harmoniously. No impact by shock of the foot (unlike running), or blocking the position of the body (bike), but against a physical training for your glutes. The practice of the Scooter is a physical exercise beneficial for the maintenance of your health. During a regular workout, the improvement of the cardiovascular capacities is remarkable.

The scooter can be used both as a means of locomotion requiring less physical effort, maintaining a pace of about 15km / h, than a sporty way at a training speed between 21 and 25 km / h. In a more general way, it is necessary to consider that one moves on the dishes about twice as fast as current.

Various records demanding an excellent physical condition were established by the Finnish Alpo Kuusisto:

On August 14, 1999, he established the Kickbike marathon record in Helsinki: 42 km. in 1 hour 20 minutes and 03 seconds

On August 31, 2002, he set the 24-hour scooter record with a total of 519 km
On August 25, 2003, he traveled Paris-Brest-Paris in 85 hours for 1200 km (faster than many bikes!)
The speed record downhill is 92km / h.
